A New Co-op Store is Coming Soon!

Quarry Bay Investments (QBI) is pleased to be working on behalf of Calgary Co-op to create a new mixed-use urban village on the current site of the Brentwood Co-op. With a brand new store (and more!) we look forward to bringing new amenities to the Brentwood community.

We know your Co-op store is important to you – that’s why our plans include a phased approach to construction which will see all Co-op services remain open during the redevelopment. More information on that and other elements of the project are coming soon – check back here for details and updates. We’ll also be sure to give regular updates as the project proceeds, to minimize disruptions and inconveniences.

Your feedback is important to us! We will be talking with Co-op members in store in July and August. Look for our information kiosk at various times each week, in-store. We will also be holding community open houses in September to gather your ideas about the project and answer any questions you may have. Dates, times and locations will be announced shortly. We hope to see you there.

In the meantime, if you have questions, comments or ideas you’d like to share, please visit our Contact Us page for information on how to get in touch with the QBI team.

Thanks for stopping by – we look forward to connecting with you.

  • While Brentwood has the charm of the contemporary 70’s grocery store, I look forward to the concepts provided in the new stores found in all other parts of town. I will continue to shop at Safeway Dalhousie (closest new concept store to me) even though I live within 2 blocks of the existing Brentwood Coop. In other words start digging.

    • Thanks for your comments – this store will be similar if not better than the mid-town location. We are glad you are excited about the project!

  • I am concerned about loss of service within the Calgary CO-OP, I strongly dislike the Safeway store and refuse to go there. I don’t want another liquor store in our neighbourhood either.

  • It may be too late but I would like to suggest that a building be set aside for a retirement residence or a Senior’s only residence. Given the demographic of the present Brentwood Coop I think – as a Senior – it would be very well received. Many of us are aging in our homes but may have to move and the only options are one building across Crowchild or further away from services that are presently offered in the area and with which we are familiar.

    • Hi Gillian,

Thank you for the suggestion. We are looking at having a range of housing types and demographics living in the residential unity – and we’ve heard from several people like you that area seniors are looking for space like this to live in so that they can stay in the area. We appreciate your comment – it’s a great idea!

    • I would love to see a inclusive living residence built..for many they may not recognize this concept however respecting HUMANS as the basis is lacking in this province..we need inclusive living sharing respect and harmony
